What is FarmTab?

FarmTab is a platform that connects local farms directly with customers. You can buy fresh food through one-time orders or subscribe to seasonal farm shares (CSAs), with pickup or delivery options depending on the farm.

Is FarmTab a grocery store?

No. FarmTab is not a grocery store or reseller. You are buying directly from local farms. Each farm manages its own products, pricing, and fulfillment. FarmTab is the platform that connects you.

Where is FarmTab available?

FarmTab is available in regions where participating farms operate. Availability depends on your location and the farms near you. Use the farm map to see what's available in your area.

Want to use the FarmTab logo?

Ordering & Customers

Do I need to subscribe to order from FarmTab?

No. Many farms offer both one-time purchases and subscription-based CSA shares. You can choose whichever option fits your needs without any commitment required.

What is a CSA (farm share)?

A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share is a recurring subscription where you receive a selection of seasonal food from a farm. You support the farm in advance and receive regular deliveries or pickups during the season. It's a great way to build a relationship with a specific farm while enjoying fresh, seasonal produce.

Can I customize my order or CSA box?

Some farms allow customization of CSA boxes or product selections, while others provide curated seasonal shares. Customization options depend entirely on the farm. You'll see what's available clearly during checkout.

Can I skip or change a subscription delivery?

In many cases, yes — but it depends on the farm's settings. Some farms allow skips, holds, or substitutions for CSA deliveries. Check your account settings or the farm's profile page for available options.

Can I place an order in advance?

Yes. Orders can be scheduled up to 14 days in advance where the farm supports it.

What happens after I place an order?

Once your order is placed:

  • The farm prepares your items
  • You receive pickup or delivery instructions
  • Your order is fulfilled directly by the farm
  • CSA subscriptions continue based on the schedule you selected

You can track orders and manage your preferences through your account.

What if there is an issue with my order?

If something is missing or incorrect, you can contact the farm directly through your order details. FarmTab also provides support tools to help resolve issues when needed. Each farm manages their own fulfillment, so reaching out directly is usually the fastest path to a resolution.

Pickup & Delivery

How do pickup and delivery work?

Each farm sets its own fulfillment options:

  • Pickup: You collect your order at a scheduled time and location set by the farm.
  • Delivery: Your order is delivered to your home if the farm offers it.

All available options are shown clearly before checkout.

How does same-day DoorDash delivery work?

Choose a nearby farm, add products to your cart, and select local delivery powered by DoorDash at checkout. Orders placed before closing may qualify for same-day delivery.

  • Available to customers up to 15 miles away from the farm
  • The default delivery window is approximately 2 hours
  • Customers receive a tracking link via text to follow their order
  • DoorDash handles all delivery logistics; farmers bag orders for the driver
Is delivery available everywhere?

Not always. DoorDash delivery is available for farms within a 15-mile service radius, where the feature has been enabled. Pickup is more widely available across all participating farms. Availability is shown at checkout based on your location.

Can I pick up my order instead?

Yes. Pickup is available at checkout and has no additional delivery fee. It's often the most cost-effective option for customers who live near the farm.

Payments

How do payments work?

All payments are processed securely through FarmTab's payment system. You will always see the full cost — including any fees — before you complete checkout. No surprises.

What payment options are available?

Depending on the farm, you may be able to pay with:

  • One-time payments at checkout
  • Recurring subscription payments (for CSA shares)
  • Installment plans, if offered by the farm
Are there any hidden fees?

No. All fees are shown upfront before you complete your purchase. The service fee and any delivery charges are clearly itemized at checkout.

Do I pay FarmTab or the farm?

You pay through FarmTab's secure checkout, but your money goes directly to the farm after processing fees. FarmTab does not keep the funds — it facilitates the transaction.

How much does it cost to join FarmTab as a farmer?

It is free for farmers to join, list products, and set up their store. A $1.99 service fee per transaction is charged to customers at checkout. There are no monthly fees for farmers. Register here.

Farmers

How do farms join FarmTab?

Farms apply through the Join FarmTab page. Once approved, you create your farm profile and can start listing products or CSA shares right away.

What can farmers sell on FarmTab?

Farmers can sell a wide range of locally produced food, including:

  • Fruits and vegetables
  • Meat and poultry
  • Dairy and eggs
  • Bread and baked goods
  • Seasonal CSA shares
  • Herbs, flowers, and specialty crops
Do farmers have to offer subscriptions?

No. Farmers can choose to offer one-time products, CSA subscriptions, or both. You control how your farm sells on the platform.

How do farmers get paid?

FarmTab pays farm partners via Stripe on a scheduled basis. Each order and subscription is tracked transparently in your dashboard. If you don't already have a Stripe account, it's free to create one at stripe.com.

Can farmers manage their own pickup and delivery options?

Yes. Farmers define their own pickup locations, times, and delivery options based on what works best for their operation. DoorDash delivery integration is also available where the feature is enabled.
